Braveness of the Ming with Zhang Han and Park Min Young

Here is for another China-Korea collaboration. This one is a full drama and we already got familiar with this type of project since it is the third this year only! (think of Diamond Lover with Rain and Tang Yan and think of God of War Zhao Yun with Yoona and Lin Gengxin). This actors starring in this one include Chinese actor Zhang Han and Korean Actress Park Min Young. The drama is called Braveness of the Ming and started filming recently.

I never really paid attention to Park Min Young, but she did a few good dramas including Healer, City Hunter and Sungkyunwan Scandal. As for Zhang Han, everyone is familiar with him thanks to his multiple successful dramas in China (the one I like the most is still Boss&Me). Rest of the cast includes Xu Zhengxi (The Virtuous Queen of Han) and Wei Qian Xiang (Lan Ling Wang).

The producers released true teasers for this drama as the posters make it hard to see any relevant information on the poster. The story is about a man (Zhang Han) time travelling back to the Ming Dynasty.

Yeah, sigh indeed. It really is a love/hate relation. I love that Korean actors bring more attention to Chinese dramas/movies while I hate how they make the quality of project bad (because of their lack of understanding of Chinese language and culture).

Definitely. The thing is, I do love Kdramas and Chinese dramas…separately. The style and culture and acting is really just too different sometimes. Korean actors can be massively talented and skilled, but they don’t necessarily always fit into Chinese dramas acting wise, especially when it’s a period drama like this one is. I’m willing to give it a shot though, because Park Min Young looks really pretty with this look.

      • Point taken.. but in saying that its good relations that Korean & Chinese Artists are able to improvise and assist.. Im sure that Korean Artists.. have studied or read about Chinese Traditions & knowing the Chinese Language.. or whether the Writer/Director has spoken to the Korean Artist re: knowledge re: engaging in this project or is it (dubbed)?? and thats visa versa..
Im very confident that **Park Min Young** will do a Brilliant Acting Performance.. as its her 1st Chinese Drama Debut.. and with her Professionalism & the grace of the lord.. Im sure with the helpfulness of the Team Production & the friends that she will make on set that everyone will work together as ONE…to make this Project **EPIC*** and I cant wait to watch it once when its released 2016.. It will certainly be worth waiting for… Fighting::)

@Julianne: I know! For example, you will have a Korean actor who went through so many Plastic Surgery and other methods to look like the perfect ideal Korean girl/guy. Then he comes in the Chinese Industry and his/her face just doesn’t match the culture there.
As for the acting, I find that Korean actors tend to put a lot of aegyo (consciously or not) and it just doesn’t do well in Cdrama settings.
I am not sure if I will give this drama a shot (maybe just the first episode), but the trailer looks good!😀
