Yuan Xiao Kuai Le!! ^^ Are we late? Yes, we are, but it is the thought that counts right? *start dreaming of thousands of Tang Yuan to eat*

Crazy rumour that I don’t even half believe. Run Brother season 4 is RUMOURED to guest star all EXO members + ex-EXO members… I seriously think this is a groundless statement, but since it is trending on weibo and I have previously misbelieved FSF and ZLY are single, who knows?

Another rumour to take with a grain of salt. The cast of Legend of Ruyi has announced some potential names. Qianlong Jiang will be portrayed by Zhang Hanyu, Consort Ling by Gao Yuanyuan, Zhen Huan by Xu Qing, and Consort Jia by Zhang Tian Ai. Victoria was rumored to be part of the drama too, but turns out it was all media play. Woah, I will be so impressed if they manage to bring in all these seasoned actors and the latest hit girl.

Novel Mi Wu Wei Cheng also known as Colors of Night has announced their cast! The main leads will be Elvis Han and Sun Yi. Hope them good luck!

A new drama starring Xu Lu  has announced itself! Be With You is based on the c-novel Wrong Every Step.

In addition, Xu Lu will be starring in Magical Space Time with Ruby Lin and Jia Nailiang. It will be a special show for Huan Yuan Xiao Special!

I “fancy” Li Yifeng in Sparrow. The drama is putting so much emphasis on Li Yifeng that I wonder if it will be a one man show :”D…

Demon Girl by Yu Zheng and more released tons of stills, we have to catch up!

Qiao Zhenyu in fancy clothing for Song of Phoenix:

Nina Dobrev and Kris Wu will be appearing in a star studded movie called xXx. [Does not sound promising, but it is an interesting cast :)] Edit: This movie is a huge budget Hollywood movie that will also star Vin Diesel. Sounds more promising right? ^^

The movie MBA Partner starring Yao Chen, Tang Yan, Aaron Kwok, Li Chen and Hao Lei released more character posters. It is all about the money, money!

William Chan just came up with a new single called 表白. I will link the video below:

The cast of Zhu Xian practicing fighting scenes in the adorable clip below. I hope they give Yang Zi other skills than spinning :”D. Oh, and the last segment where the elders did a fashion show cracked me up xD… Please watch:

Bonus! Cute drawings of Zhao Liying in Zhu Xian:

Talking about our girl, her movie Rise of a Tomboy just released the highly anticipated trailer!! I will add the trailer to our official post too (here << check it ^^)

  1. Hehe! First time reading an entertainment update for the first time instead of helping writing it ^^
So many exciting news in this one! Happy to see Rise of a Tomboy with a release date (it says March 18th in the trailer). Also excited for MBA Partners and Song of Phoenix. The clip of Zhu Xian is perfection, and I have to say, Yang Zi looks so pretty in it.
Finally, the real question: Are the posters of LORD posted in their respective gender WC or are the guys looking after the girls and vice versa? 8D

xD the one million question. I think it was girl/girl and boy/boy ^^ but with this kind of weird taste, who knows😛 Super excited for Rise of a Tomboy, ZLY looks fabulous in it

I believe it’s boy girl and girl boy. There were weibo comments about just “got on” so and so. Aka “using the rest room” but it can also be read as “slept with.”

    • Thanks for telling us! I don’t know about ikitten, but I know I probably wouldn’t apply. v_v I am already so burdened out with school these days and I don’t want to make blogging into another mandatory responsibility (although being paid sounds quiet nice xD). On another note, it is awesome that Soompi is expending toward CHN/TW/HK news. ^_^ More people will be able to discover cdramas as well as other mando goodies

AWWN Thank you, that is so nice ^^ Soompi has a good followup too… so tempting! But I don’t think I can :”D Too many commitment in my school life and I actually have ideas for posts to write for cdramadevotee that I haven’t done yet because of lack of time. I will keep it casual for now

    • Oh yea, this time of the year should be all about midterms for you girls. Not to gloat or anything, but I’m really glad that I’m not in school anymore. =P

*nods* yep, it’s great that popular platforms like Soompi is expanding (lol is that another typo you got there, archidisign? XD). I think it has a lot to do with Viki’s acquisition of the site.

Haha, yes. It is all typos, all the mistakes you see! 8D But yeah, I will reread myself more..

Why would Kris Wu being in XXX3 does not sound promising?

Did you do your research? It’s a Hollywood franchise with Vin Diesel, Deepika padukone(the biggest bollywood actress), Donnie Yen, Tony Jaa and Ruby Rose. With such a diverse cast, movie is shoe in for an international hit. And the first XXX movie did very well, as with most movies with Vin Diesel in it.

    • xD I agree! I think ikitten was pulled off by the name of the movie. It sounds quiet promising in my opinion and you are making it sound even better. I actually remember watching xXx (Triple X) when I was on a high school trip years ago and enjoyed it. Vin Diesel is perfect for action movie and I am curious to see his interactions with Kris. Plus, Nina Dobrev❤

I admit I have never watched XXX so I don’t know how good the movie is. But usually, international stars doesn’t always star in the highest grossing movies in Hollywood. A lot of Nina’s recent movies were not that good and you can say the same about Fan Bingbing or Zhao Wei’s Hollywood movies. By looking at the statistics of XXX2, it seems the budget of the movie was higher than the box office. I think XXX3 may not be as awesome as Kris’ other projects this year (Mr. Six, Mermaid <3), but I could be totally wrong! I just checked the trailer of XXX 2002 and it seems interesting🙂

      • Tian says:

Yeah XXX2 tanked because they totally changed the cast. But the first one with Vin Diesel in it did very well. This instalment also has Samuel L Jackson, so he is definitely a box office bringer.

I don’t think Zhao Wei actually has a real Hollywood role. Fan BingBing keep taking non-speaking roles too, because she cannot speak English. I think she should stop and stick to China. I do like her, but I think taking roles which are bad is harming her career more.

I disagree that international stars are not given good grossing movies, especially lately. Donnie Yen is also in Triple X and he also got a good part in Rogue One: A StarWars story. Kris is also taking part in Valerian which has a very high budget. TripleX, Rogue One and Valerian are purely Hollywood productions, not Chinese-American/French collaborations. I feel it sets them apart from other Chinese stars. I just hope this will open more doors for other Chinese actors who can speak decent English to get more visible Hollywood roles.

Hey Tian! Thanks for the input, there is lot of things you said that I wasn’t aware of. It is definitely true that Chinese actors are gaining more popularity in the recent years. However, I don’t think Asian celebrities will find tremendous fame or popularity by acting in Hollywood movies, just because it is two completely different environments. Hope he does well ^^

About Vic being “out” that is not true because she never even met with the production crew of that drama. This whole rumour started on Jan 23 when a gossip weibo said ZTA and Vic were going for same role. However, this was proven to be mediaplay from ZTA team and they not only dragged Vic, but also ZS,TY, and other actors. If you go to that same weibo and check Jan 17 post, it already said that ZTA auditioned and was in “negotiation” for the role. No mention of any other actress name. Just her. Guess it didn’t really make “hot topic” as they wished.

On Jan 23, ZTA team pulled Vic name and put both actress names in a post then hashtagged her name and that webdrama she was in. It was very obvious their team paid lots of “shui jun” (aka paid marketing weibo) because you saw “ctrl c+ctrl v ” post all same content by empty weibo users. Since Vic is more “hot topic” she eventually went on weibo hot search, dragged by ZTA and Vic getting all the unnecessary hate. Vic was on weibo hot search on Jan 23 and 24th. Then after 2 days, ZTA team targeted ZS (Zheng Shuang), who is also hot topic on weibo ( all these ppl relatively way more popular than ZTA) and ZS also went on no.1 search for next couple of days and also getting hate. ZTA used exact same method. Put ZTA and targeted actor names in same post, writing praising post for ZTA and hashtag her name and her drama name. Even the notorious gossip site and who always give bad comments for all the popular actresses and other gossip weibos called out ZTA and her team for dragging other actors to mediaplay her and possibly help her get that role for that drama she auditioned for.

This led to Victoria’s studio staff reply on weibo releasing a statement: https://twitter.com/HJ_ting2/status/691508977708863488

So if you could please correct the misinterpreted info up there, I would greatly appreciate it. Vic, along with other actresses already received unnecessary hate and got dragged into a hot mess for something totally unrelated to them. Just because someone and her team really wanted to get their name out there using shallow method.

    • Hi! Wow, thanks for the long and well developed explanation. The changes were made ^^
wow, show business can sure be very shaddy. Victoria always get a lot of attention for any projects she pick so I am not surprised people are using her name to go up on the research hot topics. I am sure at this stage of her career, she can deal with these trivial hates like a Queen. Although it is definitely not fair to use her name so randomly for media buzz because it creates headache/confusions for her fans.

Hey! There is two comments from you so maybe it is the other one? I think WordPress wanted the authorization of moderators before posting it, I have no idea why :”D

I took the information from SinaTV and they casually declared Victoria is out since a lot of online community associated her name to the project. It was probably harmless from them to state it that way, but since Victoria has been getting hate for it, I understand why it can be frustrating. Thanks for clearing it up ^^

ya, and sina also “casually” reported on Vic terminating her contract with SM before lmao And it turned out that rumour was not only false, but also SM was the one who first offered Vic opening her own studio. I just hate these gossip sites and C-media in general ugh. so frustrating T.T
